SIZE: 10.000M2
STATUS: Concept
TEAM: Christian Álvarez (Partner, PL), Marina Villalobos, Elvira Fernández, Diana Fernandez, Jaime Castilla
The competition for Lérida 32 in Madrid has two main objectives: to meet the established costs and to achieve the most sustainable building possible.
In order to achieve this objective, strategies have been established to have a technical/economic balance, but at the same time make the building attractive to users and guarantee the maximum comfort.
The refurbishment focuses on four aspects:
• Façade
• MEP
• Finishes
• Landscape and common areas
The facade interventionis focused on the design of a bioclimatic façade whose lamelles and perforations are adapted to each orientation and solar exposure. The entrances to the building are simplified to a single level. This way, the courtyard becomes the heart of the building, giving access to the different entrances. In addition, the proposal includes an incredible rooftop. All the common spaces are revitalized with a careful, low-maintenance, native landscaping selection turning these spaces into new areas of recreation and interaction for their users.
